According to the news story, somebody paid $380,000 for the guitar Jimi burned up at the Monterey Pop festival during his famous “guitar sacrifice’ finale of Wild Thing. (See the story here)

Either they got their facts wrong in the story and it was ANOTHER guitar they sold all along and was presented that way, or some poor sucker who never saw the Monterey Pop documentary (or hasn’t figured out YouTube) got badly taken.

As you can see in the video below, when Jimi’s done, her throws the smashed guitar with the burnt pieces into the crowd... OOPS!!! So unless they contacted all those people who got the separate pieces and recostructed the axe (highly unlikely) the guitar wasn’t the only thing to go up in smoke!!! (Check it out below)
