The Lanigan and Malone Show is co-hosted by John Lanigan and Jimmy Malone. The two have been on the air together in some capacity for 24 years and continue to be a market leader.
John is approaching 40 years on the air in Cleveland, having started in Cleveland at WGAR in 1970. John has been a fixture at WMJI since 1985. He is best known for his ability to interview the famous, and not so famous. From politicians to athletes to entertainers to authors, John has talked to them all. Lanigan is a part of the fabric of the Cleveland community, having done both radio and television in the last 40 years. John is originally from Ogallala, Nebraska where his first job was with the high school radio station.
John’s co-host is Jimmy Malone, a native of Cleveland. Prior to joining WMJI part-time in 1985 and full-time in 1991, Jimmy was a regular on the comedy club circuit in Cleveland. Jimmy’s act featured stories from the newspaper he called “Knuckleheads in the News.” John liked the bit and invited Jimmy one night to join him in the studio “some morning.” Eventually he did and 24 years later, not only are John and Jimmy still together, but “Knuckleheads in the News” is still a Thursday feature on the show, and the two have produced several “Knuckleheads” CDs.
Jimmy still performs some stand-up around town, and considers himself “the voice of reason” on the show. Jimmy’s annual charity golf tournament has raised over a million dollars to provide scholarships to area Cleveland kids to attend college.

Although Tracey is not a native Clevelander, she has lived in Ohio all her life; she grew up in Columbiana, a small town south of Youngstown. She graduated from Miami University in 1989, where she majored in elementary education, which has proven to be surprisingly valuable in this job!
Tracey lives in Medina with her husband (who went to Fairview High School with Chip!) and two daughters (Lauren and Megan), and has been in radio since the year 2000--she got her start doing mornings at K96, a country station near Sandusky, and also working at Metro Traffic, where she actually spent about 6 months doing traffic for Lanigan & Malone. She left there to do mornings at 97.5 WONE in Akron, and finally joined Lanigan & Malone in March 2005, doing her "dream job." The job is different every day, she gets to meet all sorts of interesting people, and gets paid to talk, what's better than that??
She's always looking for guests and guest ideas for the show, so feel free to send her an email if you have anything interesting...
Tracey loves sports (especially football and playing golf), traveling, and is always up for a new adventure! |
