The Lanigan and Malone Show is co-hosted by John Lanigan and Jimmy Malone. The two have been on the air together in some capacity for 24 years and continue to be a market leader.
John is approaching 40 years on the air in Cleveland, having started in Cleveland at WGAR in 1970. John has been a fixture at WMJI since 1985. He is best known for his ability to interview the famous, and not so famous. From politicians to athletes to entertainers to authors, John has talked to them all. Lanigan is a part of the fabric of the Cleveland community, having done both radio and television in the last 40 years. John is originally from Ogallala, Nebraska where his first job was with the high school radio station.
John's co-host is Jimmy Malone, a native of Cleveland. Prior to joining WMJI part-time in 1985 and full-time in 1991, Jimmy was a regular on the comedy club circuit in Cleveland. Jimmy's act featured stories from the newspaper he called "Knuckleheads in the News." John liked the bit and invited Jimmy one night to join him in the studio "some morning." Eventually he did and 24 years later, not only are John and Jimmy still together, but "Knuckleheads in the News" is still a Thursday feature on the show, and the two have produced several "Knuckleheads" CDs.
Jimmy still performs some stand-up around town, and considers himself "the voice of reason" on the show. Jimmy's annual charity golf tournament has raised over a million dollars to provide scholarships to area Cleveland kids to attend college.
Chip Kullik is the News Director of WMJI. Chip is a proud lifelong Clevelander who grew up in Fairview Park. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1989, Chip was hired as a news anchor/reporter at WEOL radio in Elyria. After annoying the program director at WMJI in 1990 for an interview, Chip was hired as an overnight board operator and promotions flunky. After stabbing several people in the back, Kullik eventually was hired in the WMJI news department and then in a bloodless coup was named News Director for WMJI, WMMS and WHK. Chip was also part of the WMMS morning show for a couple years, before moving on to torture John Lanigan and Jimmy Malone on the Lanigan and Malone morning show.
Tracey Carroll is the producer and kind-of the Jack (Jacklyn?) of all Trades of the morning show--not only does she book and schedule the guests for the show, but you'll hear her do the traffic reports and chime in whenever the guys need to be kept in line or a woman's perspective is needed. She also updates the website, so feel free to share any fun videos or articles you find online!

After 18 years at WKYC TV 3, as a chief meteorologist, morning anchor, reporter and everything in between, Mark Nolan is back in the medium that started it all for him... radio. "There's nothing like cracking that microphone, talking up a Sly and the Family Stone tune and getting into the music."
Mark's seen studio time in radio station's in East Liverpool, Warren, Kent, Akron and Cleveland starting at the age of 19. "I had a Sunday morning Big Band show on a radio station in East Liverpool, Ohio. Les Brown, Benny Goodman... My grandma was my biggest fan... I didn't care, though... I was 19 and had my own show!"
Nolan was born in Cleveland and grew up in farm country in southeast Ohio. After graduating from Kent State, he worked at the old WAKC TV-23 in Akron as the 6 & 11 weather anchor. "I left the TV job because there was more money in radio for me at the time and didn't think I'd ever see the inside of a TV station again... That's when Channel 3 Called"
Mark worked as a fill-in meteorologist and SLOWLY worked his way around Channel 3 holding a number of different titles. "I miss my Channel 3 friends but, it was time to move on and get back to my roots. I wanted to clear my head and remember why I got in this business", said Nolan.
So, now it's mid days 10-2 on Majic 105.7. The new schedule leaves Mark with plenty of time for his other hobbies. "I'll spend hours out in my shop working on everything from my race cars to motorcycles to yes, my daily driver, 'Frankentruck'".
So, when you see a guy in a Carhart ball cap driving a multi-colored 1991 Chevy truck with every bit of 315,000 miles on it, tell him you love Majic 105.7!

I've been in radio since 1981, starting on Cape Cod, and in Boston, Massachusetts where I grew up. (when The Sox and Patriots both broke everyone's hearts, and the Celtics ruled. Funny how things change.)
After 3 years in Las Vegas in the late 80's, early 90's I was looking for work and luckily found myself here in Cleveland in 1991, through some mutual radio friends. I got to play the hits as Jammin 92's Night guy until 1999, and met Britney Spears back when she wasn't making people gag.
After watching my former company screw up the Jammin' Oldies thing for a couple of years, I came to Majic in 2001, the best decision I ever made! OK second best, the first one was marrying my wife Wanda and adopting her cats.
Tom Kent was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. He first came to Northeast Ohio in the 70s at the ripe young age of 19 to host nights at WIXY 1260 in Cleveland where he was known as "Truckin Tom Cookin Kent". The immediate cold left him in almost permanent deep freeze and he left and vowed never to return. With the lure of more money and afternoons, he was asked to return to Cleveland in 1978 to host afternoons at WGCL "G-98" using the handle "TK Tom Kent" which has stuck to this day. There he met his lovely wife Karen. A funny thing happened, when he fell in love with Karen, he also fell in love with Cleveland. Although they headed off in early 1980 for Chicago's legendary WLS "The Big 89", Cleveland came calling again in 1988 when he returned for mornings and Program Director at Top 40 WRQC 92.1 FM (later "Jammin 92" ). TK vowed never to leave again and his Cleveland career has had him crossing paths with several of the current Majic staffers. "Joining the team at WMJI 105.7 is like attending a Cleveland family radio reunion for me! I couldn't me more excited to join the likes of Lanigan & Malone, Chuck Collier, Action Jackson and all the other Majic folks. Legendary station...with legendary personalities!"
While his storied career has taken him to several major cities, Cleveland is by far is favorite place. He loves the people, the climate, and the great culture of Northeast Ohio. His favorite places include the Cuyahoga Valley National Park , along Lake Erie and the Metroparks. He resides in suburban Cleveland with his wife Karen and three children Steven, Jackie, and Katie along with Lucy and Lola their two Bichon puppies.
"I could never understand why anyone would ever want to leave here. It's too hot and humid in the south, the West is too far away, the East is too crowded but ah...CLEVELAND is just right. Truly there is no better place to live and once you've enjoyed a few picnic sunsets on the Lake in the Summer, you know you've found the best location in the nation.
